A lot of times I get ask what are the signs of a controlling relationship, so I wanted to put together an article to explain it.  I wanted to help people recognise the early signs of a controlling relationship and how to correct or leave if your partner refuses to realise that they are acting unreasonably.

The early signs of a controling relationship are:

1. Lack of trust.  Your partner always wants to stop you going anywhere alone in case you meet someone of the opposite sex.
2. Your partner always phones your mobile and asks you where you are or who are you with?
3. Your partner is jealous if you look or talk to anyone of the opposite sex. 
4. Your partner checks your mobile phone to see who is on your contacts list or who you have been talking to.
5. Your partner accuses you of cheating when you have been faithful.
6. Your partner controls your money and decides how much you are allowed to have for yourself.
7. Your partner always thinks that they are always right and do things the correct way and wants you to accept and do everything their way.
8. Your partner tells you how you should dress and what to wear.
9. You are not allowed to do anything unless your partner also wants to do it.
10. Your partner tells you to lose weight although you are happy with how you are.
